We’re absolutely delighted to be opening the brand-new Shanty Stage at the Brixham Pirate Festival this year, and we can’t wait to share it with you all.
What to expect at Pilchard the Pirate & Lee Shanty (B.P.F. 2026)
A quick word about one half of our duo, Lee Shanty. He has learning difficulties, but what he brings to the stage is something truly special. He’s a natural entertainer with a huge heart, a brilliant sense of humour, and an infectious love for sea shanties. Performing is what he lives for — he thrives on the energy of a crowd and loves every moment in the spotlight.
You might notice that he sometimes gets a little carried away, sings a bit out of key, or drifts off the beat now and then — but that’s all part of his charm. His enthusiasm is genuine, his passion is unstoppable, and his joy on stage is something we think you’ll feel straight away.
We’d also like to say a heartfelt thank you to the Brixham Pirate Festival committee for giving Lee this opportunity. It speaks volumes about the spirit of the festival — one that truly embraces inclusion, celebrates individuality, and welcomes performers of all kinds to the stage.
We know the Brixham crowd will give him the warm welcome and encouragement he deserves. Your support means the world.
