19 October 2026 at 19:00 — ends 19 October 2026 at 21:00
An evening poetry open mic hosted by comedy poet Robert Garnham at Brixham Heritage Museum. £3 for poets reading, £5 to come and listen.
What to expect at Poetry Open Mic with Robert Garnham
Following his afternoon workshop, Robert Garnham hosts an open mic night in the museum on the opening evening of F.A.B. 2026. Bring a poem or two to read – new writers and regular performers alike – or simply come along to enjoy an evening of local voices in an unusual setting surrounded by Brixham’s history.
Garnham is one of the South West’s best-known spoken word performers, a slam winner whose comic, warm and often surreal LGBT poetry has taken him to festivals across the UK, and the poet behind Squidbox, his sequence about Brixham’s fishing fleet. Readers pay £3 and audience members £5. Booking is essential through the museum, which is in the Old Police Station on New Road.
