In this engaging and practical session, former Special Forces leader Rob Colley explores why the quality of our decisions is often determined by our internal state, particularly when we are under pressure.
Drawing on lessons from high-pressure military environments, alongside practical breath and awareness training, Rob will explore how stress influences our thinking, behaviour and ability to lead.
Attendees will discover how to recognise when pressure is affecting their judgement, understand the difference between reacting and responding, and experience a simple technique they can use to create greater calm and clarity during demanding situations.
This session is not about removing pressure or avoiding change. It is about developing the human capabilities to navigate both more effectively.
Because in a world where information is increasingly available to everyone, the ability to turn knowledge into wise decisions may be one of our greatest competitive advantages.

Rob Colley
Rob Colley is the founder of Thrival Instinct, a human performance and resilience training company helping people develop calmer minds, clearer thinking and greater adaptability in a rapidly changing world.
A former Special Forces leader, Rob spent over two decades operating and leading in high-pressure environments. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross in 2016 for Gallantry and Leadership on Operations.
Today, Rob combines lessons from his military career with his experience as an advanced yoga teacher, breath coach and resilience trainer to deliver practical training for leaders, teams and organisations.
Having delivered more than 80 retreats and trained over 1,000 people, Rob focuses on helping individuals develop the inner skills to handle pressure, make better decisions and live more deliberately.
He is also the author of A Return to Grounded Presence: A Field Guide for Men Returning to Themselves.
