One year ago today, Mapzest officially launched.
What started as an idea to help visitors discover more of what makes a place special has grown into a community-powered platform used by businesses, attractions, event organisers and visitors across South Devon.
Over the past 12 months we’ve welcomed hundreds of venues, promoted well over a thousand events, expanded into new destinations, and continued developing new features to make discovering local businesses easier than ever.
But the part I’m most proud of isn’t the numbers.
It’s seeing businesses embrace a new way of reaching visitors. Watching organisations support the vision. Seeing local communities come together to create accurate, up-to-date information that genuinely helps people explore.
Thank you to every business, organisation and individual who has believed in what we’re building. Whether you’ve created a listing, shared a post, offered feedback, or simply downloaded the app, you’ve helped shape Mapzest into what it is today.
Year one has been about building the foundations.
Year two is about scaling them.
Here’s to helping even more destinations connect visitors with the incredible local businesses, attractions and events that make them unique.
Thank you for being part of the journey. 🚀
